This graph shows the aggregate amount of 6 principal opioids countries consumed in morphine equivalence as it relates to their Human Development Index score. Each bubble represents a country and the color represents the World Health Organization region that country belongs to.

You can explore the relationships between the opioid consumption data for all drugs and other country characteristics in the following ways:

  • Select indicators using the drop-down boxes along the chart axes.
    • Note: Chart axes can have either a linear (LIN) or logarithmic (LOG) scale
  • Click the play button to see how usage has changed over time.
  • Select a specific country in the list on the right to highlight its changes over time.
  • Click and drag a rectangle on the graph to zoom into that data range.
  • Select a different indicator for the colors.
  • Change chart type to bar or line graph in upper right corner.
